Jamie Vardy says the mood in England's World Cup camp is similar to that of Leicester's Premier League title-winning side.

The 31-year-old striker played an integral part in Leicester's unlikely run to win the Premier League, scoring 24 goals to earn himself a call up to the England squad for Euro 2016 that summer.

"We were exactly the same, very close (at Leicester) having a laugh and joke at training," Vardy said ahead of England's opening game against Tunisia on Monday.

"I think that when you are enjoying it more, you play your best football.

"We have all got that mentality where you just want to win. We want to make sure we are here as winners."

With Harry Kane captaining the side and Marcus Rashford's good form, Vardy accepts his appearances might be limited in Russia.

"You can only have 11 players on the pitch, just have to make sure you put in the pressure on the training field, and if you get given a chance, take it."

"We're fully prepared and ready for the first game. You can talk about our results historically but we are here and we are looking to do well in training and do well in that first match.

"I think you can see from the last two games we have started brightly and on the front foot and if you start like that it can put teams on the back foot and that is what we are looking to do come the first game."
