Gary Neville will help select England's final squad before Euro 2016 via a conference call from Spain on Wednesday before linking up with the national team next week.

Neville gave up his media commitments, including his role as a Sky Sports News pundit, when he was appointed Valencia manger in December, but England manager Roy Hodgson was happy for the former Manchester United defender to continue in his role as assistant.

The former England international is preparing Valencia for a Europa League last-16 clash with Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, but will spend some of Wednesday afternoon helping to select England's squad ahead of upcoming friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands, with the squad to be announced on Thursday.

Neville has endured an indifferent spell at Valencia, but will join up with Roy Hodgson's side during the international break as planned.

Injuries rule out England captain Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Fabian Delph, Danny Ings or Charlie Austin, but Danny Welbeck could return to the international fold for the first time in a year having recently made his first-team return with Arsenal.
