England are big favourites to beat Scotland on Friday when the rivals meet at Wembley - and the transfer fees the respective squads have attracted reflects that standing.
England's 25-man group cost their clubs £251.75m to assemble, while Scotland's squad cost £66.4m.
Five of Gareth Southgate's side came through their respective club's youth ranks before establishing themselves in the first team but Raheem Sterling and John Stones were signed by Manchester City for a combined fee of £99m - over £30m more than Scotland's entire squad.
Remarkably, 14 of Gordon Strachan's 25-man Scotland squad cost their current club nothing at all, including Darren Fletcher, Craig Gordon and Steven Fletcher, who formerly held the 'most expensive Scotsman' tag.
That now belongs to 19-year-old Oliver Burke, who joined RB Leipzig for £13m from Nottingham Forest in the summer. Matt Ritchie, who made the switch from Bournemouth to Newcastle in the last window, was purchased for £12m.
Of course, odds and transfer fees will count for little on Friday night, when Scotland will be going all out to earn crucial qualification points against their old rivals.
