Roma's squad wore 'Forza Sean' T-shirts during Tuesday's training session in support of Liverpool fan Sean Cox, who is in a critical condition in hospital.
Cox sustained serious head injuries when he was attacked outside The Albert pub near Anfield ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg last Tuesday and he remains in an induced coma.
Two Roma fans have been charged following the incident, which badly marred a 5-2 first-leg win for the Premier League side.
Ahead of Wednesday's second leg at the Stadio Olimpico, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp welcomed Roma's show of support and said: "Great gesture, I really thought Rome already showed a fantastic gesture for the 96 (Hillsborough victims) at Anfield.
"These two teams deserve to be here because they show the maximum respect for the other side. They're a fantastic side with a great mentality.
"In these moments, all football fans should really stay together and show this kind of respect."
