Borussia Dortmund were delayed in flying to London on Tuesday for their Champions League clash with Tottenham after Jadon Sancho forgot to take his passport to the airport.
Take off was delayed while the passport was retrieved.
The 18-year-old has been in better form on the pitch this season, scoring eight goals in 29 appearances.
The former Manchester City youngster, who was born in south London, is heading back to his home country for the first time in club football having established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Europe.
Sancho says he wants to prove a point after moving to Germany from City aged 17.
Dortmund are without captain Marco Reus for the trip to Wembley with a thigh injury.
