Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised predecessor Pep Guardiola's work at the club.
Ancelotti is preparing his team for Wednesday's pre-season encounter against Guardiola's new club Manchester City at the Allianz Arena.
And while the former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss insists the game will be important, he does not believe the result matters so much.
"We have to consider that for both teams it is a game to prepare well for next season," Ancelotti said.
"It's a friendly game, of course we want to do our best, everybody wants to try to win, but the result is the less-important thing.
"For this match I would like to see my team do well and make a good performance. That's it.
"Guardiola's time at Bayern was really good. I hope the players don't forget this because it was a really good experience for them.
"Every manager has his own style, and this year I want to put my ideas, but I think the work Guardiola did here in the last three years will be important also for this season."
Meanwhile, Ancelotti insists Bayern are not interested in signing winger Leroy Sane from Bundesliga rivals Schalke.
Ancelotti claims all positions in the squad are covered and he will not be making any more signings despite the injury to Arjen Robben.
The 57-year-old expects Robben to be fit for the start of the season, while Douglas Costa will resume training in three weeks.
