RB Leipzig climbed to second in the Bundesliga after beating Augsburg 2-0 at the Red Bull Arena.
Dayotchanculle Upamecano opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he poked home from close range after Marwin Hitz saved brilliantly to deny Yussuf Poulsen.
The home side should have taken the lead moments before Upamecano's goal when Timo Werner's shot was turned behind by Hitz.
Hitz again denied Werner eight minutes into the second half when the striker's powerful shot was well saved.
Liverpool-bound Naby Keita scored his eighth goal of the season when his free-kick 20 minutes from time deflected off the wall and past Hitz.
Kevin Kampl could have made it 3-0, but his free-kick rebounded off the crossbar with 11 minutes remaining.
Peter Gulacsi was the quieter of the two keepers but he had to be alert to deny Augsburg a goal by saving well from Michael Gregoritsch in the first half and Daniel Baier in the second.
