Antoine Griezmann further enhanced his glowing reputation with a stunning free-kick in Atletico Madrid's 3-1 win over Sevilla.
Atletico came into Sunday's clash with third-placed Sevilla five points behind the men from Andalusia, but in good form, having secured yet another spot in the Champions League last eight.
Sevilla, as well as being knocked out of Europe's elite completion by Leicester, have stuttered domestically of late, and were always second best on their final visit to the Vicente Calderon.
With the game already at 1-0 thanks to Diego Godin's first-half header, Sevilla were put to the sword by Griezmann, who netted his fifth goal in four games in some style.
The 61st-minute free-kick had all the curl, power and accuracy one would require from a set piece, leaving Sergio Rico no chance, looking all the more aesthetically pleasing going in off the under side of the crossbar.
