Rafa Benitez sacked: Real Madrid's 13 managers this century

 Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez

Rafa Benitez's time in charge of Real Madrid is over. But he's not the first to see his time at the Bernabeu cut short - the Spanish giants have had 13 managers in the 21st century.

Benitez only lost three games during his six-month tenure but the performances of his team failed to impress the hard-to-please Real Madrid support and a hammering at the hands of Barcelona left him facing an uphill battle to regain their favour.

He joins a high-profile club. Since Miguel Munoz, who led Real to nine La Liga titles, two European Cups and two Copa del Rey trophies from 1960 to 1974, no manager has held the post for longer than three-and-a-half years.

Here, we look at the last 13 full-time managers since 1999, their win percentages, and their honours list.
