Former Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani has topped the first Sky Sports La Liga Power Rankings after scoring twice for Girona during their 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid trio Toni Kroos (No 2), Casemiro (No 6) and Gareth Bale (No 7) all scored during Madrid's 3-0 win at Deportivo, while Marcelo (No 9) was also among the top performers with an assist.

Barcelona are considered to be falling behind their Clasico rivals following Neymar's departure to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and losing 5-1 over two legs to rivals Real Madrid in the Super Cup - but the Catalans managed a 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Sunday.

However, only goal-scorer Sergi Roberto (No 10) represented Ernesto Valverde's men in the top 10 performers, while Lionel Messi failed to make the top 50 after striking the post three times at the Nou Camp and only hitting one shot on target.

Leganes midfielder Gabriel Appelt Pires entered the chart at No 3 after scoring a match-winner against Alaves in the season-opening fixture on Friday.

Former West Ham striker Simone Zaza landed the No 4 spot, scoring Valencia's winner during their 1-0 win over Las Palmas - having failed to net one goal for the Hammers in eight Premier League appearances.

Maxi Gomes (No 5) put Celta Vigo ahead twice against Real Sociedad, but Mikel Oyarzabal (No 8) levelled initially before former Southampton forward Juanmi (No 17) scored an 80th-minute equaliser and Willian Jose (No 19) converted a last-minute penalty to secure a 3-2 win for Sociedad.
