Luis Suarez says negotiations over a new Barcelona contract are progressing "nicely" amid reports he is a target of Manchester United.
The former Liverpool striker, who signed for the Catalan giants in 2014, claimed the European Golden Shoe for a second time after finishing top scorer across Europe last season and is looking to agree a new deal to keep him at the Nou Camp until 2021.
Suarez, 29, is with the Uruguay national team preparing for their World Cup Qualifier against Ecuador on Thursday, but has sought to make his club intentions clear after being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
"Negotiations are moving along nicely in the right direction," Suarez said. "Both parties want this deal to go through."
Suarez's strike partner Neymar signed a new five-year contract in late October that will keep him at Barcelona until 2021, which includes a buy-out clause fixed at around £167m for the first year of his new contract, £185m for the second and £210m for the remaining three years.
Lionel Messi is contracted to Barcelona until 2018 and will be offered a contract extension in the coming months, the club said recently.
Meanwhile, Spanish rivals Real Madrid have tied down the long-term futures of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent weeks.
