Neymar slipped as he took a first-half penalty against Real Betis

Neymar slipped and hit the bar as he took a first-half penalty against Real Betis, but Barcelona took the lead anyway through Heiko Westermann's own goal on the rebound.

Neymar appeared to clip the ball with both feet as he slipped from 12 yards, which in the rule book would be deemed a foul, but Westermann could only divert the rebound into the empty net under pressure from Ivan Rakitic.

The penalty was initially awarded in controversial fashion, as referee Inaki Vicandi Garrido deemed a clash between goalkeeper Antonio Adan and Lionel Messi to be a foul, despite Adan winning the ball first.
