Neymar thanked Paris Saint-Germain supporters for a "magical, magificent" welcome before their Ligue 1 opener against Amiens.
There was a party atmosphere inside Parc des Princes on Saturday afternoon, with the Brazil superstar at the centre of it after his £200m move from Barcelona was completed on Thursday.
Neymar was not registered in time for PSG's opening domestic game of the season but that did not stop supporters turning out in bright sunshine to celebrate the club's world-record arrival.
Fireworks greeted Neymar's arrival on to the pitch after a pre-match disco session from French DJ Martin Solveig had set the mood.
After a few words from chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Neymar made his way to the podium and said hello to his new fans, 45,000 in attendance in the capacity crowd.
"This is magical, magnificent, I want to thank the supporters," he said.
"I am disappointed to be ineligible today, I really wanted to [play], so it will maybe be next week instead.
"In the dressing room? I am alongside Dani Alves and Thiago Silva, once again. I hope that we are going to have a great season together."
He booted a few balls towards the stands from the podium and performed some ball juggling before going on a lap of honour and settling into a seat in the stand to watch proceedings.
