Neymar will not be available to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut against Amiens on Saturday evening.

The Brazilian's international transfer certificate (CIT) failed to be lodged with the French league by the midnight deadline on Friday, an official said.

Neymar, signed for 222m euros (£200m) from Barcelona, had been hopeful of making his debut in PSG's Ligue 1 opener.

But the French league (FLP) had not received the document by midnight meaning Neymar will watch the game from the stands at the Parc des Princes instead.

Kick-off has been pushed back 15 minutes to allow extra time for the player's unveiling before an expected sell-out crowd of more than 45,000.

A ceremony will begin at 2.45pm BST with the kick-off delayed to 4.15pm.

Neymar has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side who will target regaining the French domestic league title from Monaco and winning the Champions League.
