Aberdeen could be without Jonny Hayes for several weeks after the winger suffered a hamstring injury in training.
Hayes has not travelled to Slovenia for the second leg of the Dons' Europa League qualifier against Maribor.
His absence is a blow for Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes after he scored in the 1-1 first-leg draw, and he may now also be sidelined for the opening few games of the Scottish Premiership season.
McInnes said on Wednesday: "Jonny picked up an injury in training yesterday which was obviously a concern. It's a blow. It's one of these things we have to deal with because he's a very important player.
"We tried to keep it quiet but these things never stay quiet. I think the opposition [Maribor] were aware of Jonny, too, and the threat he poses.
"It's his hamstring but we don't know how long he'll be missing for. He'll get a scan and we'll find out, it depends on the severity."
