Rangers boss Graeme Murty says his team have to make their own luck in the title run-in.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty says they have to concentrate on their own business and not worry about others as they look to close in on Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Murty's side will move to within six points of Celtic again if they beat St Johnstone on Tuesday and the Rangers boss is confident they will have a strong final few weeks of the season.

Speaking ahead of the game he said: "Until it's mathematically impossible we have to keep pushing on but as I've said all the way through, all we can do is keep aiming high and keep making sure our performance level is right.

"If people slip up, they slip up but we can't actually count on anything going our way.

"What we have to do is make our own luck and make sure our performance level is commensurate to the task. The task at hand is to go and win a game tomorrow, we have to make sure all of our energies are focused on that.

Rangers have lost just once in all competitions since Christmas and their 2-0 win against Hearts on Saturday did take them to within six points of the top.

Celtic pulled further ahead again when they beat Aberdeen 2-0 on Sunday but Murty believes his side are a match for anyone and can stay in touch with their rivals.

He added: "I believe we have the capacity to trouble any team in the country, that's all I will say because belief, talking about it, saying that we're going to do this do that means absolutely nothing unless you go and back it up.

"I believe we've got a squad and a team that's capable on any given day of going out and beating our opponent.

"We have to make sure that we do not get too carried away. We have to make sure we take care of our business and the business that we have is a very, very tough game against an organised opponent who beat us the last time we played them.

"We need to make sure we're ready for that challenge and that challenge only, and if it puts us in a better position a more positive position, that's all we can really look to do."
