Graeme Murty says Rangers players are "hurt and angry" after their home defeat to Hamilton at the weekend.
Goals from David Templeton and Darren Lyon earned Hamilton a 2-0 victory on Saturday and their first league win at Ibrox since 1926.
Rangers are still without a manager after Pedro Caixinha's sacking last month and all the signs are that Murty will get at least one more game in charge when they travel to play Dundee at Dens Park on Friday.
And the club's development coach senses his players are determined to atone for Saturday's disappointment this weekend.
"There are some hurt and angry players in there, which is good and is how it should be," he told the club's official website.
"There are some hurt and angry staff too, but I think it is important personally we don't get too high when we get a success and we don't get too low when we get a tough one to take.
"We just need to maintain our personal standards of preparation and performance, and the players definitely had a good response this week.
"You don't have to motivate people who know they want to put things right, and that's the vibe I have had from the players."
Rangers missed a number of chances against Hamilton but Murty is gearing training towards the challenge of facing Neil McCann's team rather than simply working on finishing.
"I thought when we didn't get the goal, we became a bit frantic and a bit anxious, and we stopped doing the things we did in the first half that had got us into such good situations so often," he said.
"We are working on the specifics of Dundee, and how we think we can break them down and how we think we can get opportunities from that, and putting players in those situations so they can recognise them, and then hopefully be clinical from there."
