Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst says he is committed to his current role despite being linked with the managerial position at his former club Rangers

Feyenoord boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has distanced himself from speculation linking him to the managerial vacancy at Rangers.

The 42-year-old won two Scottish titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup during his time at Ibrox as a player before spells with Arsenal and Barcelona and has been one of the names linked to the post since Pedro Caixinha was sacked nearly a month ago.

Van Bronckhorst guided Feyenoord to their first Eredivisie title in 18 years last season but his side have struggled this campaign, and currently trail leaders PSV Eindhoven by 14 points in the league.

However, he has dismissed suggestions he could be set to leave De Kuip in the short term, but would not rule out a return to his former club at some point in the future.

"I have seen the media coverage but I am fully focused at Feyenoord and I will be focusing on Feyenoord for the next years," he said.

"I obviously had a great time in Scotland with Rangers, I think one of the best times I had abroad.

"But at the moment, for me, all that counts is Feyenoord. You can never tell, maybe in the future, because it is still a club in my heart."
