The Rangers board have held an unscheduled meeting where Pedro Caixinha’s future as manager was discussed.
Rangers' 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Wednesday piled more pressure on Caixinha, with the result following on from Sunday's 2-0 Betfred Cup semi-final defeat to Motherwell.
It is understood that a board meeting has taken place. Chairman Dave King left Ibrox shortly before midday, while chief executive Stewart Robertson remains at the ground.
Caixinha was at Rangers' training ground at 6am on Thursday morning, but left Auchenhowie shortly before 1pm.
When asked if he was still Rangers manager, Caixinha said: "Of course I am."
Rangers are fourth in the Scottish Premiership after a late equaliser saw Kilmarnock earn a share of the points on Wednesday.
