Rangers defender Rob Kiernan will miss Sunday's derby with Celtic after losing his appeal against a two-match ban.

Rangers appealed the decision after Kiernan was shown a straight red card for a foul on Graham Cummins during the 3-2 win over St Johnstone on March 1.

He was therefore able to line up in the 6-0 Scottish Cup win over Hamilton last weekend but will now be absent for the derby on Sunday, which is live on Sky Sports, and the league game against Hamilton on March 18.

Kiernan, 26, has been a regular in the Rangers side this season and would have been in line to start at the heart of their defence on Sunday if his appeal had been upheld.
