Mark Warburton says Rangers will not underestimate the challenge posed by Greenock Morton ahead of their Scottish Cup fifth-round clash.

Jim Duffy's side, who are third in the Scottish Championship after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Raith Rovers, visit Ibrox on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 2HD, for a place in next month's quarter-finals.

After back-to-back wins over Motherwell, Rangers have come in for criticism following a heavy loss to Hearts and a draw at home to Ross County in the Premiership, but Warburton says his focus is on the cup and the threat of Morton.

"They are a team who are having a very good season, top three in the Championship, another good result away at Raith," said Warburton. "So we know they are organised, we know they are hard-working, we know they possess quality.

"I have enormous respect for Jim and his managerial skills and how he galvanises his team, so it is another challenge.

"It is a cup game and I can't think of an opposing player who wouldn't enjoy coming to a stadium like Ibrox, on a playing surface like Ibrox, so they'll enjoy it. They'll be invigorated by it and we have to match the challenge and deliver a performance, the same as always."

Hibernian beat Rangers in the closing stages of the Scottish Cup final last year but, while desperate to go one better than last season, Warburton says all of his focus is on the fifth-round tie and bouncing back from two disappointing results in the league.

Greenock Morton and Rangers will meet in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup

"We've had a bad result against Hearts but it's a cup game so the focus has to be, every competition you go into you want to go as far as possible," he added.

"We got to the final last year - it is easy to say unfinished business but that would be disrespectful to Morton first of all and, hopefully, teams we will face after that. Our job is to get into the hat for the draw for the next round. That is the only job.

"Jim will be saying the same to his players - 'go there, the pressure is on Rangers, they are at home, they are expected to win' - all the normal clichés.

"The fact of the matter is, it's the Scottish Cup, we want to win it, ideally, so all our focus is on that game."
