Philippe Senderos says he understands the weight of expectation on Rangers players and is keen to help the club challenge for the title.
The former Arsenal and AC Milan defender has signed a one-year deal at Ibrox after spending time on trial and accepts that supporters demand success at the club.
If fit, he could make his debut in the Old Firm derby at Celtic Park on September 10, live on Sky Sports 2, where he could line up against former Gunners team-mate Kolo Toure.
"Hopefully play as many games as possible and help Rangers do as well as possible which is hopefully winning the title," Senderos said.
"We know the expectation of this football club is to come first and we are going to try and work as hard as we do out here on the training pitch, try to replicate it at the weekend and win as many games as possible.
"We know the challenge is very big and the road is long. We still have a lot to do during the season to be able to talk about fighting for the title. This is the first season back in the Premiership, we know the expectation about Rangers is very high.
"I know there is a lot of quality in this team - I have seen enough. I think the players work very hard in training and everyone wants to do well so hopefully I can come in and help the team as well."
