Harry Forrester is out of Rangers’ Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic this weekend with a leg injury.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury in the 4-0 Petrofac Training Cup Final win over Peterhead at Hampden Park and was substituted with 23 minutes of the game remaining.

Rangers have since confirmed the winger has suffered a hairline fracture and is expected to be sidelined till next month.

Forrester signed a new three-year deal with Rangers on Tuesday and told reporters after penning the deal that he was relishing his first Old Firm clash against bitter rivals Celtic.

But a statement on the club's official website confirmed he would miss the clash with the Hoops, which is live and exclusive on Sky Sports on Sunday.

"It had been hoped Harry would have recovered quickly but a scan on Tuesday afternoon has revealed a hairline fracture and he will be out of action for a number of weeks," the statement read.
