Celtic are close to concluding a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Timothy Weah on loan for the remainder of the season, according to Sky sources.

The 18-year-old is understood to be flying to Dubai on Monday night to join Celtic's mid-season training camp, although he is yet to undergo a medical.

Weah - who is the son of Liberia president and former Ballon d'Or winner George Weah - would become the Hoops' second January arrival after Oliver Burke joined on loan until the end of the campaign from West Brom on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers is understood to be keen to bolster his striking options during the January transfer window while the Scottish Premiership is on a winter break, with Weah, who joined PSG from New York Red Bulls in 2014, among the club's targets.

Weah, who has eight caps for the USA, would follow Odsonne Edouard in making the move, which became permanent in the summer after a successful season-long loan to Glasgow from the Ligue 1 side.

Edouard is the club's only recognised centre-forward after Leigh Griffiths' decision to take time away from the game to deal with ongoing personal problems.
