Brendan Rodgers says Celtic are "working towards consistency" as the Scottish champions travel to St Johnstone on Sunday.
The Hoops have completed the 'double treble' in the last two seasons - winning the Scottish Premiership and both domestic cups - but have endured mixed results so far in this campaign, sitting fifth in the top flight after seven games.
They have lost to Hearts and Kilmarnock on the road this season, while in Europe they failed to qualify for the Champions League and were defeated 3-1 at RB Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday.
St Johnstone, meanwhile, sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership after seven games, just five points behind Celtic, while the Hoops trail unbeaten leaders Hearts by six points.
"We're working towards consistency," Celtic boss Rodgers said. "I am fortunate to have a group of honest players who work very hard.
"We always fight and we always work. The players who we have are fantastic guys and will give everything going into the game.
"I think the league will be very competitive this year. It will be a challenge but I expect us to get better and better."
Rodgers confirmed captain Scott Brown will miss Sunday's trip, while he will make a late call on Leicester loanee Filip Benkovic.
"Scott Brown will be out for the weekend but will rejoin training after the international break," Rodgers said.
"Tom Rogic is available. Filip Benkovic will train so we'll see how he is."
