Celtic look set to complete a long-term loan deal for Australia World Cup youngster Daniel Arzani on Thursday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who made three substitute appearances for the Socceroos in Russia, has passed a medical and will join Celtic on a two-year loan, having completed his transfer from Melbourne City to Manchester City, Sky Sports News understands.
Arzani is capable of playing on either wing or behind a central striker and is widely seen as the best talent to come out of Australia for several years.
Speaking at Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex ahead of a trip to Hearts, Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, who is also hopeful of completing the signing of former left-back Emilio Izaguirre in the next 24 hours, said: "He (Arzani) has completed on the Man City side, virtually most of it is completed on our side.
"He has been up here today so, like I say, we hope for that to complete over the next few days.
"He hasn't done anything since his last game with Australia a little while back so he is going to have to come in and adjust and get up to speed before we can even consider him for a game".
Arzani became the youngest player to make a World Cup appearance for Australia when he came on as a substitute in the group matches against France, Denmark and Peru.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers described Arzani as an 'exciting young talent' when discussing the move earlier this week.
