Scott Brown was shown a straight red card as Celtic drew 2-2 away at Ross County on Sunday, but he could still be available to face Rangers in next week's Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
The Hoops captain received his marching orders in stoppage time of the Scottish Premiership clash at the Global Energy Stadium following a late challenge on County forward Liam Boyce.
Celtic are yet to announce whether they will launch an appeal and would be without Brown for the next two matches if they decide against making a challenge.
If Celtic do decide to appeal, a hearing would not take place until April 28, meaning Brown would be available to face Rangers on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 2 HD from 11.30am.
Following the semi-final, Brendan Rodgers' side face their Old Firm rivals in the Premiership at Ibrox on April 29, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 11.30am.
