Scott Brown has urged Celtic not to show Barcelona too much respect on Wednesday but accepts it is a real challenge to nullify their celebrated front three.
Brendan Rodgers' side were on the end of a 7-0 defeat in their Champions League Group C opener at the Nou Camp in September and need to beat Barcelona in Glasgow to have any hope of reaching the last 16 of the competition.
Lionel Messi hit a hat-trick in Catalonia and is expected to line up alongside Neymar and Luis Suarez in Barcelona's lethal 'MSN' trio when they visit Parkhead but Celtic skipper Brown wants to see his side assert themselves in the match.
"They are top quality players and we all need to understand that but we've got to not show them as much respect in the middle of the park and make a few challenges," Brown said.
"Their front three is excellent to watch. Playing against them is hard work because you think you've got them and they somehow manage to work their way out of a tight space or you switch off for a minute and they are in behind you.
"It's all about their movement off the ball as well as on the ball - it is fantastic.
"But I think it is all about how high a line we hold and how brave we are and if we can deal with the pressure and keep [them] out and get the crowd behind us it will be a fantastic night again."
