Celtic's Patrick Roberts admits he would be prepared to snub England this summer in order to satisfy his Champions League dream.
The Scottish Premiership player of the month for April could be picked to play for England in the European U19 Championship, an event which will clash with Celtic's Champions League qualifiers.
The U19 event will be held in Germany from July 11-24 while Celtic's involvement in the qualifying process for the Champions League begins at the second qualifying round stage on July 12-13.
"My preference is the Champions League," said Roberts, who has made 16 appearences at U19 level for his country.
"I have wanted to do that ever since I was a little boy. That would be my preference, but it is not for me to decide - it is for my club and country to decide."
Manchester City are Roberts' parent club, the winger having joined Celtic on an 18-month loan in January.
"Playing in the Champions League, or playing for your country - both are proud achievements," he said.
"Whatever they decide, I will get on with my job, be my normal self, as I always am, but it is not for me to decide."
Celtic will have a new manager in charge for next season and Roberts is keen to make a good impression.
He said: "My priority is always to impress the manager so whoever I have to impress then I'll try to do so. If you can make a good first impression it can be good.
"A manager comes in and they have players they like or bring in their own so if you're already here you have to make sure they like you."
