Carlton Cole made an impression off the bench for Celtic against Inverness as he played his part in a bizarre third goal.

Carlton Cole made quite an impression on his Celtic debut after being involved in a bizarre own goal at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday.

Cole, who joined the Scottish champions on a two-year loan in October, picked up the rebounded ball after a great save by Owain Fon Williams, but a tangle between players saw him smothered and the ball eventually ended up over the line.

The hosts appealed for handball but the goal stood, officially going down as a Danny Devine own goal, with Celtic eventually winning 3-1 to go seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
