Inverness midfielder Ryan Christie is on course to join Celtic after he was given permission to discuss personal terms with the Scottish champions.
Reports in Scotland have claimed the Parkhead club are ready to pay £500,000 for last season's Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year.
It is also believed they could loan Christie back to his current side for the rest of the campaign then move him to Glasgow next summer.
The 20-year-old had a breakthrough campaign last term, playing 42 times for Inverness as they finished third in the Premiership and won the Scottish Cup.
He has continued his good form into 2015/16, already scoring twice including a goal against Celtic on August 15.
Christie's father Charlie - a former Inverness manager - spent two years with Celtic as a player between 1987 and 1989 but left again without making a first-team appearance.
