Lincoln made light work of struggling Southend as they ran out 4-0 winners at Sincil Bank.
The League One newcomers cruised to victory thanks to first-half goals from defenders Jason Shackell and Harry Toffolo before Tyler Walker bagged his first for the club just after the break, with Bruno Andrade wrapping things up late on.
After a quiet opening, the hosts took the lead in the 31st minute through Shackell, who was making his first appearance of the season after serving a six-game ban.
Jorge Grant's long free-kick found the centre-back lurking at the back post and his header looped over Nathan Bishop and into the net.
It was another Grant free-kick that helped to double the Imps' advantage five minutes before the interval.
On the opposite flank this time, he found Harry Toffolo who recovered after a poor second touch to hit a low drive into the bottom corner.
After the restart, Tyler Walker put the Imps seemingly out of sight converting from the penalty spot in the 48th minute, after being felled by Joe Shaughnessy.
Substitute Andrade completed the rout nine minutes from time, firing home an unstoppable strike from the edge of the area.
