Lincoln's game with Luton finished as a stalemate despite some entertaining football being played in their Sky Bet League Two 0-0 draw.
A draw was probably a fair result in a contest which was played at breakneck speed in front of a crowd of more than 9,000 at Sincil Bank.
The Imps edged possession in the first half but it was the Hatters who had the clearer chances with Danny Hylton and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu firing narrowly wide.
Early in the second half, last-ditch challenges from Sean Raggett and Michael Bostwick kept out Luton, the latter following a rare error from Raggett.
City's best chances came in the second half and Hatters keeper Marek Stech pulled off two good saves in quick succession to deny Nathan Arnold and Luke Waterfall.
Late on, Lincoln fans were baying for a red card when substitute Jordan Cook hacked down Nathan Arnold.
The fact there was a covering defender persuaded the referee to show a yellow card instead.
The Imps looked more likely to force a winner and the Hatters looked relieved to hear the final whistle.
