Eoghan O'Connell could make his Walsall debut against Sheffield United after joining from Celtic.

The defender arrives on loan for the rest of the season and replaces Kevin Toner after he returned to Aston Villa.

Scott Laird has renewed his loan from Scunthorpe and the left-back could feature on Saturday.

Defender Matt Preston may return after missing the last two games through illness.

Sheffield United will be without recent signing Samir Carruthers, who sustained an injury on his debut at Southend last week.

Midfielder Carruthers, signed for a undisclosed fee from MK Dons, damaged his ankle 15 minutes after stepping off the bench and will be out for up to four weeks.

Leon Clarke is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up. The striker returned as an unused substitute last week following an ankle injury.
