An extra-time penalty from substitute Matt Derbyshire gave Rotherham a 1-0 win over Fleetwood which secured their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley almost missed the start of the game after arriving at Rotherham's former home - the Don Valley Stadium - by accident.
However, he did not miss much until the additional 30 minutes - neither team had their directions to goal figured out either.
Rotherham captain Craig Morgan came closest in the first half with a drive from the edge of the box producing a good save from visiting goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.
In the second half Matty Blair got in on goal for the visitors after a clever run but Scott Loach was out quickly to block his strike. Loach then reacted smartly to deny former Miller Gareth Evans on two occasions.
Paul Green had the best chance to seal victory before full-time but his shot from Derbyshire's cross rebounded off the post.
The game's only goal came in the 108th minute when the lively Derbyshire forced Nathan Pond to foul in the box.
Derbyshire dispatched the ball into the corner beyond Maxwell to save the prospect of more penalties.
