Bournemouth plan to appeal Tyrone Mings' FA charge of violent conduct after an alleged stamp on the head of Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mings said after Saturday's Premier League game at Old Trafford that the stamp was accidental, and Sky sources have confirmed the club are backing their player on that.

The FA will be informed later on Tuesday.

Ibrahimovic was also hit with the same charge after allegedly catching Mings in the face at a corner moments later. Both players have been given until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charges.

Deliberate elbowing and stamping are both red card offences, so would result in three-match bans if either Ibrahimovic or Mings are found guilty.

However, the FA have outlined plans to enforce an increased ban on Mings for his offence.
