Chris Hughton says Stoke have undergone a change in style since Paul Lambert became their manager last month.
And he believes the Potters will provide a tough test for his Brighton team this Saturday, and feels their performances have been better than recent results have shown.
The Seagulls travel to the Bet365 Stadium this weekend and Hughton says his side's next opponents have enjoyed an upsurge since Lambert replaced Mark Hughes as Stoke boss last month.
The Brighton manager explained: "I've watched Stoke's last few games, a new manager has come in and they are playing a different formation (than under Hughes).
"Their performances have been good. They were unlucky to lose at Bournemouth and were up against a good Watford side at home before that.
"And if we are to get anything from the game, we'll have to be on our game.
"Stoke are playing at a high tempo, pushing players through from midfield and have a talented front three.
"I think it's that change of formation, which has given them a lift. There's definitely been an upsurge in performances, due to a change of formation and probably also a change of manager.
"Paul, who I followed as manager at Norwich, generally likes to play on the front foot. An attacking style and getting players forward - an entertaining style of football."
And Hughton says that Brighton's record signing, Jurgen Locadia, will be in the squad for the match at the Bet365 Stadium.
The 24-year-old Dutchman joined from PSV Eindhoven during January's transfer window, but has not played competitively since December 10 - due to injury.
Hughton told Thursday's press conference: "He'll be in the squad for Saturday.
"He hasn't played any under-23 matches but has had a good week and a half's training, going into the game.
"He's been out a period of time. Some can fit straight back in, others may take a little longer but the main thing he's fit and available."
