Brighton will kick off their Sky Bet Championship 2016/17 season with a trip to fellow promotion hopefuls Derby County on August 6.
Just a week later, Nottingham Forest will visit the south coast to play at the Amex Stadium.
Manager Chris Hughton will return to the club he got promoted from the Championship in 2010 on August 27 when Brighton face Newcastle United at St. James' Park.
Brighton, who missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of last season, will hope to avoid a similar fate when they travel to Aston Villa on May 7.
