David Wagner says his Huddersfield lost to a "top-class side" after Arsenal recorded a 5-0 win over the Terriers on Wednesday night.
Alexandre Lacazette handed Arsenal an early lead, but what followed was a close encounter with Huddersfield having opportunities to equalise.
However, three goals in five second-half minutes put the game beyond Huddersfield, and Wagner could only praise the quality of their opponents.
"First of all we have to congratulate Arsenal on this win. In the best period we had after half-time, when it was 1-0, they scored three goals in four minutes," Wagner said.
"After this, they showed what a top-class side they are and I think it was a deserved win for them. It's a top-class team and we've learned something today.
"If we want to put teams under pressure, we have to score, especially with these great opportunities that we had.
"In the situation when it was 1-0, we didn't take them and they have shown us what it means to be clinical, and what it means to take chances."
Until the 68th minute, Arsenal were embroiled in a tight battle with Huddersfield, who could have levelled through Collin Quaner.
Mesut Ozil soon changed the outlook of the game however, assisting Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez before scoring himself.
Giroud went on to add a fifth late on, and though it will go down as a heavy defeat, Wagner does not want to dwell on it ahead of a busy December.
"At the end, yes [it was a fair], because this was the result," Wagner added. "In the best period we had, they scored and then it was totally game over.
"Nobody expected from us that we would get a result, and even though it was a harsh result, we will try and forget this. It makes no sense to think about losing to Arsenal."
