David Wagner says Huddersfield's 2-1 win over Manchester United marks one of his proudest moments as a manager.
Wagner's Huddersfield ended United's unbeaten Premier League record at the John Smith's Stadium thanks to first-half goals from Laurent Depoitre and Aaron Mooy, moving them up to 10th place.
An emotional Wagner said the result was "huge" for the football club, and could not hide his pride following the win.
He told Sky Sports: "This result is so huge for Huddersfield, us as a football club, to beat Manchester United at home, their first defeat of the season. I think this is an absolutely huge moment for everybody.
"Today was our moment, we were at our best, maybe Man Utd weren't at their best, and the players made me very proud today. This is for sure one of the proudest moments in my managerial career. This is what makes me very happy.
"We have seen a top class team today in Manchester United, and this is a big, big day for Huddersfield."
Huddersfield, who had recently been picked apart by Tottenham at home in a 4-0 defeat, had to change their approach for the visit of United, says Wagner.
The German, who guided them to promotion from the Championship last season in the play-off final, said the win was not lucky, and recalled how he had told his players before the game that he believed in a positive result.
"I think because of the attitude we have shown, and this fighting spirit they have shown from the first second, I can say that this was not only luck, it was a deserved result.
"Of course we had to change our idea of our game a bit, we sat deeper and wanted to break them down in the transition, and I think it worked.
"There were a lot of good signs today that we will be able to be at least a competitor, and I said to the players before that I cannot expect a result, this is impossible, but I expected that we try everything, showed an attitude, and that I believed in a result."
