Swansea manager Garry Monk blames mistakes for defeat to Tottenham Hotspur

Swansea City manager Garry Monk said a couple of mistakes proved costly as his side were beaten 3-2 by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
In a game that was overshadowed by Bafetimbi Gomis collapsing on the pitch in the seventh minute, Swansea conceded twice early in the second half to fall 3-1 behind.
While Monk said Gomis was “fine” after he was stretchered off, he was left to rue the two goals his side let in after half-time.

“I’m disappointed with those two goals,” he told Sky Sports. “We were playing well at that point looking like we were going to create then two mistakes from us made it difficult.
“We pushed towards the end and could have scored a late equaliser but it wasn’t to be.”
With Swansea trailing 3-1, Glyfi Sigurdsson set up a tense finish when he volleyed home against his former club in the 89th minute.
But the Swans were denied a share of the spoils as Hugo Lloris pulled off a fantastic stop to keep out Federico Fernandez’s injury-time header.
“It was a good save but that’s not good for us,” said Monk. “Overall we could have got a point but it was a good save and we have come away with nothing.
“We responded really well after losing Bafe, got the equaliser and could have got a couple more in that period. But then we came in and second half we were disappointed with their two goals. Performance wise we could have got something out of the game.”
Swansea now have 11 days before their next Premier League match against Liverpool.
“There is a period where the boys can have a bit of rest and next few days we are back in and focused for the following game,” said Monk.
