Swansea City have appealed the red card shown to Federico Fernandez in Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Liverpool in the Capital One Cup.
The Argentine faces a three-match ban after he was shown a straight red card by referee Keith Stroud for a challenge on Philippe Coutinho.
The FA will make a decision on the appeal ahead of the Welsh side's Premier League trip to Everton on Saturday.
A statement issued on the club's website read: "Swansea City can confirm that the club will be appealing the red card issued to defender Federico Fernandez against Liverpool last night.
"The club officially informed the Football Association by today's (Wednesday's) 1pm deadline.
"The FA will make a decision on the appeal ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to Everton."
