Alfie Mawson to return to Swansea training ahead of Brighton game

Alfie Mawson could be fit for Swansea to face Brighton on Saturday after fears of a serious injury.
The 24-year-old "locked" his knee in the warm-up before Swansea's draw against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup last weekend, meaning he missed out on the opportunity to play in front of the watching England manager, Gareth Southgate.
Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal had eased concerns over the injury, which was a recurrence of a problem Mawson has suffered in the past, and the player is now "in with a good chance" of being considered for their trip to Brighton.
"After seeing a specialist and undergoing an MRI scan, the influential defender is set to rejoin his team-mates on the training ground ahead of the Brighton clash," a Swansea statement regarding Mawson said.
Brighton are just one point ahead of Swansea going into Saturday's game, with both sides looking to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
