Whoever takes over from Paul Clement at Swansea is faced with one of the toughest survival jobs in recent years, according to Gordon Strachan.
Swansea sacked head coach Clement on Wednesday after losing nine of their last 11 games, which has seen the club left rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.
Tony Pulis, who was sacked by West Brom earlier in the season, is the odds-on favourite to replace Clement.
The Welshman has a strong history of saving clubs from the drop and has never suffered relegation from the Premier League, but Strachan has questioned whether Swansea's squad is powerful enough for Pulis to work his magic once more.
"Of all the relegation jobs that have been up for grabs over the past three years, this one is the hardest," Strachan told The Debate.
"When you look at the Crystal Palace and West Ham squads, they had tremendous individuals and great power and pace.
"I'm one of Tony's biggest fans but I don't think that squad has the height or power he's had at every club that he goes into.
"When you look at Swansea, they look at bit frail.
"I'm sure Tony is fed up with this firefighting thing. There's much more to Tony than that but he does that job very well. I just don't know whether Swansea have the power."
