Swansea head coach Paul Clement wants new signings in January who will break straight into their starting XI.
The Swans are two points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League after a 4-0 home defeat against leaders Manchester City on Wednesday.
Clement's side are away at Everton on Monday, live on Sky Sports Premier League, before a crucial home game at the bottom end of the table against Crystal Palace the following Saturday.
Swansea's head coach says he will hold talks with the club's American owners about potential transfer targets after those two matches.
"Our summer window was less successful than we'd have liked and hoped for, but our last January window was very successful", he said.
"We had (Martin) Olsson, (Tom) Carroll, (Jordan) Ayew and (Luciano) Narsingh come in and all those players made an impact. They're the kind of players we need in January. Players that are going to come in go straight into the starting XI and make an impact immediately.
"What we don't need are squad players. We need players that are going to make a difference and get us over the line in these tight games."
Swansea's defeat against City was their 11th in the league this season, but Clement is urging his side to build on the performance which earned them a 1-0 win against West Brom four days earlier.
"We need to focus on what happened against West Brom", he said. "Build on the fighting spirit that got us over the line in a tight game and build from that game into Everton and Crystal Palace.
"We're four points behind 14th. We have two games with six points available before the turn into the second half of the season. We need to try and get some valuable points in the next two games, stay in touch and don't get cut adrift."
