Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin felt let down by his team's first-half performance as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Premier League champions Leicester.
The hosts took the lead when Jamie Vardy finished off a typically efficient counter-attack before captain Wes Morgan doubled the advantage early in the second half.
Riyad Mahrez wasted a chance to make it three when the winger's penalty was saved by Lukasz Fabianski before Leroy Fer's 80th-minute goal for Swansea came too late to rescue a point for the visitors at the King Power Stadium.
Victory might have earned the Welsh outfit three Premier League away wins in a row for the first time in two years, but Guidolin admitted that their lacklustre opening 45 minutes ruined their chances of getting anything from the game.
"Leicester deserved to win because in the first half they were more aggressive and we didn't play well," he told Sky Sports.
"We improved in the second half and had the possibility to draw, but I think the result was right. Leicester look even stronger than last season."
Although Sung-Yueng Ki and Jefferson Montero were introduced during the second half, which injected some much-needed life into Swansea, Guidolin was pleased the added intensity in his side's play.
With record club signing Borja Baston out with a thigh injury, the Italian manager will now hope to strengthen his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.
"We are working to sign a player - a central defender. This is all I know at the moment because the chairman is working for this situation.
"I'm optimistic [for signings] but I have always said that I'm happy with this group."
