Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin is confident about his team's future after seeing his side beat Burnley 1-0 in their first Premier League game of the season.
A tap-in from Leroy Fer was the difference as Swansea started their Premier League campaign with a narrow win at new boys Burnley.
Fer's 83rd-minute strike helped the Swans to a hard-fought three points against a gritty Clarets side who will feel hard done by not to have got at least a point.
Before the game, there were plenty of question marks over how the Swans would perform after the recent departures of club captain Ashley Williams to Everton and Andre Ayew moving for £20m to West Ham.
And with the confidence-boosting win, Guidolin has full faith in the side he currently has and feels they have every reason to be optimistic about the season ahead.
"I thought we missed two big players, a big leader like Ashley Williams," he told Sky Sports after the match.
"A good player and a good striker like Andre [as well] but I am confident for our future because I've always said in these two months I'm happy to work with this club and now we need another centre back. Its true we know but I am happy and confident about our future."
Lukasz Fabianski was arguably Swansea's best performer against Burnley with a performance that included a strong reflex save to keep out Burnley's Dean Marney in the 90th minute.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Italian manager was full of praise for the Poland international as well as goalscorer Fer.
He said: "Fabianski is a champion.
"We had a difficult moment and Fabianski saved us. He was very important and is a very strong keeper.
"I am happy for Leroy because I asked him to go in the penalty box with the right timing because he has the technical quality and in the air. I think Fer can score five, six, seven goals this year and I am confident."
Swansea's next Premier League match is against Hull City at the Liberty Stadium on August 20.
