Garry Monk said Swansea supporters "deserve better" after his team were well beaten 3-0 at home by Leicester.
A Riyad Mahrez hat-trick separated the sides as the Swans were able to contain Jamie Vardy but they were lacklustre throughout as they failed to win for the fifth game in a row.
"We were extremely poor, especially the first half," Monk said. "The results we are getting are not acceptable; it is as simple as that.
"I know very well the history of this club, how we play, how we perform, how we are perceived and what we are giving right now is not what it should be and our fans deserve better than what we've given.
"We can debate the two goals, a handball on the first one and an offside on the second, but it is not about that; it's about the principles we set as a club, as a team and we are not doing it and that is something that has to be rectified very quickly."
Monk revealed he held talks with his players before their recent fixture at Liverpool in a bid to halt their poor run of form but could not understand how his players responded so poorly against Leicester.
"It is very difficult to put your finger on it," Monk said. "You feel you are getting somewhere, we feel we had a really good reaction against Liverpool, again the principles that I'm talking about, we showed them very well in that game.
"We work again very well this week, same principles and we get that type of performance. It is extremely hard to put the finger on it.
"It is disappointing and it is very frustrating for myself and I'm sure it is very frustrating for the fans and for the players because they don't go out there with the intention but we are going to have to find a solution very soon because the results are clearly not good enough.
"It is important, whatever happens, that these players fight for each other and get themselves through this because they are the only ones who can and it is important they do it very soon."
Due to Swansea's poor run of form, there has been speculation over Monk's future at the club and while he knows he cannot control that, he believes he can still affect change at the club.
"All I can say is the results haven't been acceptable, I understand that," he said. "Working with the players day in day out, they are good enough for sure.
"We've shown in spells in this period we are more than good enough but it is about putting in complete performances and that way of working into every game. Fighting every single moment of that game and we haven't done that well enough.
"As always, whatever happens, I will work as hard as I can to make sure this club is where it should be.
"We had a good feeling about this week, the way the players trained and then we get that, especially that first half. It is very strange - it is for me to go back and look at and understand it and then try convey that to the players."
