Lee Johnson dedicated Bristol City's 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest to their supporters - and pledged to do everything in his power to keep a smile on their faces.

Goals from Jonathan Kodjia and Aden Flint helped the Robins to bounce back from behind after Ben Osborn had put the home side in front at the City Ground.

Kodjia fired home the rebound after a shot from Joe Bryan had hit the post just before half-time, before Flint headed home a corner 20 minutes from the end. The win is Johnson's third in four games since returning to the club as manager and further eases their relegation fears in the Championship.

Johnson said: "We just want to deliver for the fans, because the fans are the lifeblood of the club. They always have been and always will be. We want to make them happy.

"We are custodians of this club and we will work as hard as we can to deliver the kind of performances that will send them home happy. We will only get better, as time goes on. We will only improve.

"It is important for us to get a win after a poor result. We were up against a good side, but we showed that we can compete. If you look at the game as a whole, we could have won by a couple more, because we had the chances. There were some outstanding performances out there, particularly from some of the younger players.

"There were some really good individual performances but, in the end, this was about us as a team and we have come out with a really good performance and a really good win."

Dougie Freedman felt Forest should have added to the 30th minute lead given to them when Osborn swept home a Chris Cohen free kick - but also lamented the loss of Jamie Ward to a hamstring problem, which added to an already extensive injury list.

"The performance was good, in the first hour in particular," he said. "We deserved the lead and we had chances to make it a bigger lead. It was a setback losing Jamie Ward to injury and then to lose the goal just before half time,
when the ball bounced back off the post right to their player.

"We started the second half very well. But the issue was that we made the wrong decisions in front of goal. In the end, we lost our discipline when we were chasing the game. On top of that, if you concede goals from set pieces then
you are going to lose games.

"I am trying to be calm in my words, but we have lost key players to injury and Jamie looked very lively in those opening 20 minutes. I still felt we played good football in the first half and deserved to be more than 1-0 up.

"We played some good stuff but we have to work on our end product. The bottom line is that I do not like losing matches and we will address that."
