Fleetwood suffered their first defeat in five games today at the hands of MK Dons courtesy of Chuks Aneke's strike.
Chuks Aneke's third goal of the season was all MK Dons needed to see off Fleetwood 1-0 and record their first Sky Bet League One win at Stadium MK since September.
Robbie Neilson's Dons were winless in five league games heading into this clash with play-off chasing Fleetwood, but Aneke's strike just before half-time settled any nerves before they saw out victory with a professional, defensive second-half display.
After a pretty lacklustre first period, the hosts took the lead moments before the break when Aneke collected the ball on the edge of the area and smashed a stunning left-footed strike past Alex Cairns and into the bottom corner.
Uwe Rosler's side fashioned their best chance of the game shortly after the hour when confusion in the Dons' defence allowed space for Jordy Hiwula inside the six-yard box, but his subsequent strike on the turn was superbly saved by Lee Nicholls in the home goal.
Fleetwood huffed and puffed late on but the Dons held firm to see the game out.
